Dried Onions (Dehydrated)
Premium Dehydrated Onions — Flavor That Lasts, Quality That Ships Worldwide
JC International supplies export-grade dehydrated onions processed with advanced hot-air drying technology from the renowned onion-growing regions of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Available in Flakes, Chopped, Minced, Granules, and Powder — we deliver consistent flavor and aroma to food manufacturers across the globe.
About Dried Onions
Dehydrated Onions are produced by carefully removing moisture from fresh onion bulbs using controlled hot-air drying technology, preserving the natural flavor, aroma, and nutritional value of Indian onions. With moisture reduced to just 4–6%, the shelf life extends to 12–24 months without refrigeration, making them ideal for international trade and food processing.
India is one of the largest producers of dehydrated onion products globally, with Gujarat and Maharashtra home to major processing clusters. The white and pink onion varieties from Nashik (Maharashtra) and Mahuva (Gujarat) are particularly prized for their pungency, color retention, and consistent quality after dehydration.
JC International works with HACCP and BRC-certified processing facilities that maintain stringent hygiene protocols throughout the production chain. From raw material selection to final packing, every step is monitored to ensure the product meets international food safety regulations, including EU, FDA, and FSSAI standards.

Dried Onions — FAQ
We supply dehydrated onions in five primary forms: Flakes (8–20mm), Chopped (3–5mm), Minced (1–3mm), Granules (20–60 mesh), and Powder (80–100 mesh). All forms are available in white and pink/red onion varieties.
Our dehydrated onions maintain a moisture content of 4–6% (maximum 6.0%), which ensures optimal shelf life of 12–24 months while preserving the natural flavor and pungency of fresh Indian onions.
We offer three treatment options based on buyer requirements: Non-treated (natural), ETO (Ethylene Oxide) sterilized, and Steam Sterilized. Steam sterilization is increasingly preferred for EU and North American markets.
The HS Code for dried/dehydrated onions in all forms (flakes, powder, granules, etc.) is 0712 20 00. This applies to products that are dried but not further prepared.
Store in a cool, dry environment below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keep packaging sealed until use. Properly stored dehydrated onions maintain quality for 12–24 months from the date of manufacture.
A 20-foot container typically holds 6.5–7.5 metric tons, and a 40-foot container holds 14–16 metric tons of dehydrated onion products, depending on the product form and packaging format.
